Admissions
The first step is to contact us and arrange a visit to see the school in action and sample the atmosphere for yourself. This first visit will help you to feel the atmosphere and see if it meets the needs of you and your child.
You will be able to meet and talk with staff and pupils, and your child may either stay with you or enjoy some play time. The school’s main intake is in September but new pupils may join us at any time throughout the year if places are available.
You are very welcome to visit us Monday to Friday during the normal school hours of 8.30am – 3.45pm. Call us on 0161 445 4521 or email us at office@mas.gemsedu.co.uk to arrange a visit.
Registration
If you decide you would like your child to attend Moor Allerton, we will ask you to formally register. We ask for a £200 registration fee, which covers the cost of processing your application and your child’s assessment. If your child is already at school or nursery, we will need a report from their current school.
Assessment
Assessments normally take place in the term before the child is due to start. Our assessments are informal to make sure they are relaxed and enjoyable. If your child is successful, you will receive a formal offer from our Head Teacher.
Early Years and Infant children are invited to spend up to a morning in school. They will mix with other children and complete simple tasks appropriate to their age. Children looking for Junior School places, aged 7 –11 years, are invited for a full day assessment. They work alongside other children of the same age group and completing a variety of tasks including English and Mathematics.
